Teaching and learning flourish when a variety of methods are used, and a skillful teacher knows how to adapt them to different situations. Although technology is important in today’s classrooms, it’s only one part of the bigger picture. Digital tools and human interaction work together, and when used right, a platform like Eduten can complement traditional teaching methods, creating a more engaging and effective learning environment.

While Eduten is renowned for its digital platform, we’re committed to a broader approach to education. We believe that learning requires different methods to develop essential skills for life and work. Our approach integrates technology with proven teaching practices to build critical thinking, problem-solving, adaptability, and communication skills. These skills can’t be learned through digital tools alone but through a balanced mix of different methods.

Introducing Eduten Lesson Guides

We are proud to introduce Eduten Lesson Guides, teacher resources designed to enhance and support your use of the Eduten platform while bringing Finnish pedagogical expertise to classrooms around the world. These guides provide you with everything needed to teach well-structured math lessons, saving time and promoting effective, pedagogically sound teaching practices.

For each lesson available on Eduten, we will provide a dedicated Lesson Guide to add variety to your teaching. They help you incorporate different teaching methods and activities to create more engaging and holistic learning experiences for your students.

Each Lesson Guide is divided into seven sections:

  1. Introduction: Offers a brief overview of the topic on Eduten, explaining what will be learned and why it’s important for the specific age group. It includes real-world examples to show the practical relevance of the topics.
  2. Skills & Goals: Outlines the key skills and learning objectives. It specifies what students will be able to do after the lesson and aligns these skills with Eduten’s resources for easy reference. Use Eduten to monitor student progress on each skill and identify areas needing improvement.
  3. How to Teach: Provides step-by-step instructions on teaching the lesson content effectively. This includes tips on what to emphasize, example visualizations, and exercises from Eduten to reinforce learning.
  4. Hands-on Math Activities: Encourages active learning and participation through activities designed to be flexible within the lesson. They often integrate multiple subjects, promoting cross-curricular learning.
  5. Mental Math: Includes exercises that can introduce or conclude the lessons, enhancing number fluency and number sense.
  6. Brain Busters: Offers challenging problems for advanced students, encouraging deeper thinking and logical reasoning. These can be tackled individually or in pairs.

Eduten Lesson Guides fit easily into your current teaching routine, whether you need a quick skill check or a full math lesson. This flexibility makes them a great tool for different teaching styles and classroom setups.

Join the Pilot!

We’re looking for teachers to test 3rd grade Eduten Lesson Guides in their classrooms. By joining our pilot program, you’ll get early access to these resources and help us improve them.

Please note:

  • The lesson guides are designed to be used in concert with the Eduten platform. Thus, this pilot is for current users of the Eduten platform.
  • The guides are in English, so participating teachers need to be able to use them in English.

If you’re interested in joining the pilot program, contact us at support@eduten.com.
